Vicious Vikings!
On the 9th of January the children participated in a Viking day where they all came dressed as Vikings from 800AD.
The day was filled with lots of fun activities from playing Viking games to exploring Viking artefacts, we even got to be part of a Viking battle and hold an old Viking sword.
It was a great day had by all that we just had to share some our photos:
Cathedral, pots and bones
Last Thursday the children went to Winchester to spark their interests in the Anglo Saxons; ready for this terms topic. Whilst we were there, the children got a tour of the Cathedral to learn about old Anglo Saxon royalty and what the Cathedral once looked like. Then we went and had a go at writing like an Anglo Saxon, colouring letters and making broaches. Lastly, we went to the museum and handled a pot that was nearly 1000 years old. We also dressed up as Anglo Saxon village people and monks which made a lot of us giggle. What a great day we had!
Samba Samba!
What a fantastic afternoon getting to know the rhythms and beats of Samba music!
Art all together in the Sun!
What a fantastic morning we spent creating artwork for our school environment! Thank you to all the Grandparents who came in and supported the day: we all loved spending time with you. Thank you too to Art staff from Mountbatten School who ran the day and Romsey Men’s Shed who did the hard lifting for us. Keep watch over the next few weeks to see all our fabulous work for the whole school to enjoy.
